Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to attend the Marjorie Pay Hinckley Chair dinner and lecture. I was asked to attend the dinner, because the research I am doing with Ukrainian orphanage children is being funded under the chair. It was an AMAZING experience!
At the dinner, I sat with Dr. Norman as well as some associate dean and her husband, and two couples who are donors to the chair. The guy I
was sitting next to was probably in his mid 50's-60's and was determined to have me date and marry his son. It was pretty humorous.
At the lecture, I sat next to Elder Bates of the Seventy, and a few seats down from Elder Scott. I was surrounded by all of President Hinckley's children. I gave the opening prayer for the lecture, which prayer I received several compliments from Dean Magelby, Pres. Samuelson, and Elder Scott...guess I'm good at praying?? It was awesome having the chance to spend a few minutes talking with Elder Scott...reminded me of when he used to come to Spokane when I was a teenager. After talking about my education a little, he told me I have a lot going for me...including my two eyes. :o)
Last night, I had the opp
ortunity to go to the Draper Temple Open House with my friends Josh, Melinda, Shannon, Clay, Stephen, Eric, Janey, Amber, Kevin, Nicole, Austin, Andrea, Kenny, Shandee, Aaron, and Ryan. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!! It was such an amazing experience!
