This is a song I wrote that was inspired on our trip to Mount Rushmore.
Second Chance

When you came along, I was buried deep inside the brick walls I had made.
I tried to tear them down for you, but by the time I did, it was too late.
I wanted to give you a chance with me, but my last broken heart wouldn’t let it be.
Time has passed, and when I saw you today, I thought that maybe, possibly
Tonight could be our second chance.
We could hold each other close as we slow dance
Under the moonlit sky, covered in stars,
And you would be mine, and I would be yours,
If only we could have our second chance.
We went for a walk tonight, and you took my hand,
And finally at last, that last stubborn brick turned into sand.
And
Tonight we had our second chance.
We held each other close as we slow danced
Under the moonlit sky covered in stars,
And you were mine, and I was yours,
And tonight we had our second chance.
I don’t know what will happen next,
But to you, I will always be grateful for
Giving me a second chance,
And for holding me close during that slow dance
Under the moonlit sky covered in stars,
And you were mine, and I was yours.
And you gave me a second chance,
And you held me close as we slow danced
Under the moonlit sky covered in stars
And you were mine, and I was yours,
And you made me believe in a second chance.
